Sharing Newborn Art is a combined event between Rebecca Connolly (Rebecca Connolly Photography), Nicole Druce (Life Cycle Images) and myself (Newborn Photography by Jade). The idea? Simply for three photographers passionate about Newborn Photography to get together, share our skills and experience and hopefully produce some beautiful images!
We couldn't have dreamed for better models for our baby photography event! The babies let us play and we had so much fun! I experienced a number of firsts during the event including getting poo in my hair (ewww)!! The 3 of us worked so well together and fed off each others creativity and experience! And thank you so much to all the vendors who sent their beautiful creations to us! It really was appreciated!
Below are both some of the images from the event as well as a few pull-backs and actions shots. I hope you enjoy the behind the scenes look and the images we created.
I was recently on holiday in China and had the opportunity to do a little gig while I was there! I was invited to feature on a daily talk show on Beijing TV called 'Beijing Ke' which basically means 'Beijing Visitor'. In Chinese culture you simply do not take your baby out for the first month so newborn photography is not something they do traditionally (or have even heard of!) and they were so intrigued to see what we can do with a 5 day old baby!
It was quite an enjoyable experience and I am happy that I have been able to contribute to raising awareness of newborn photography. This is a quick shot I did right before the taping and my younger one was still running around on the stage (far right of image) having a blast! :) Not sure when the show will air yet (I have recently also supplied them with some video of a live newborn photography session in Sydney that they will include in the show) but I will upload a video.
I am honoured to have been featured in the March newborn issue of Lemonade & Lenses magazine!!! Lemonade & Lenses is a very popular publication with lots of resources and information about everything photography and of course has tons of stunning photos in each issue. Check it out here : http://www.lemonadeandlenses.com/march-2012-issue-three/
Baby photography is the best way to preserve the memory of your newborn children during their incredible first few weeks. Aren't these newborn twins just divine! This newborn session was hard work but when I look at these images they truly melt my heart and bring tears to my eyes and I am not even their mother (although I do wish!). I enjoyed every moment of this session and would gladly do twin sessions every day if I could. Triplets next please ;)
Originally I was worried I would miss out on doing a baby photo session with Summer as her mother wasn't feeling well and cancelled the session.
Luckily though we were able to reschedule the session soon enough. I am so glad we did because it was such a pleasure to spend time with this wonderful family and little Summer was too gorgeous to miss taking her photos during this precious time in her life.
I was so lucky to be able to attend the Baby As Art workshop in Melbourne. It was beyond AMAZING! I was so thrilled to meet Carrie and Britt. They rock this industry and my world and if I were teenager I would put their photos on my wall. I wish I can be like them one day when I grow up ;-D
Totally inspired after the two days. Some of the images to share.
It was such a pleasure to meet Arabella's family. It was the icing on the cake when I found out I would be working with such a little beauty! Not only is she stunning but gee is she one of the smiliest babies you have ever seen!? She gave me so many smiles. I changed angles, put a headband on and she was still smiling and I had to stop and giggle with her!! What a sweetheart!
This photo session lasted 3 1/2 hours and I could have work with her all day to see her smiles. She is that adorable! Enjoy all her smiles and I hope her photos will brighten up your day!
